Update July 24, 2026!

Good afternoon, everyone:

It is time for a new update since a lot has been happening over the past few weeks. I’ve had another MRI. It shows no clear progression of tumour growth so thank you for your prayers and support! 

It will be another three weeks until I have another MRI to look at how to decrease the blood around my tumour (to starve it) and my oncologist had a special scan to check for bloodflow.  

Now that I can’t do Summer Band Camps, (can’t play and can’t drive and I need so much rest) I’m so glad to have started the SBA summer students who organize themselves to play gigs. Last week, the Sask. Band Association’s Summer Students came to play for me as a practice when they go to their performance. They played in my living room since it was raining outside! There are so many talented musicians here in Sask, and I credit our Band Association and CEO Suzanne Gorman and all of the dedicated band teachers and the Sask Lotteries which fund the SBA and so many arts & culture programs.

My days are full with bloodwork appointments and oncology visits, while at home I have the palliative nurses who come to visit and do my blood pressure etc etc and the music therapist who comes once a week to sing with me! We always end with “500 miles” which is so much fun. My other activities include mending Great-Grandma Atter’s quilt and going through all my books and music to pass them on. 

Add in watching Rider games on our basement TV with friends & neighbours & brother Kurt while Stacy attends the game in person!
